Well, school is in a few hours. Joy.

What’s new? I’ve moved into an apartment with my friend Jess in the Sunset area, and we love it. Only problems are that its a dead cell-reception zone and that theres no stove/oven. At least the landlords gave us an electric hotplate and a mini gas powered hot-pot. They’re really sweet old people.

Anyway, cheers.

Hope I update this thing again.

Haven’t really drawn for the past few days, mostly because I was slacking off and living life.

Today Simon and I went to go watch WALL-E! It was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while.

They did a superb job on the animation and visuals. The character designs for the robots were pretty clever and neat too. There were lots of really cute and funny moments here and there. Its sort of a borderline romance/political movie, but came out with a pretty clear message, I think.

I don’t wanna spoil anything so if you havent already…
Go watch it!

Other than that I did some junk on oekaki.

Best Friends and Snow.
Just had some fun with it. Nothing special.

But ever since a year or two ago, I had an awful experience at a shady clinic to have my blood drawn. The lady that was in charge of doing so was new.

The needle broke not once, but twice. My blood went everywhere, and the process was repeated again. Several more needles were injected but no vein was found.

Just the thought of it makes me cringe.

I cried today while getting it. I’m such a baby.

I feel uneasy.

So I was browsing through the internet being a bum as always, and I came upon Evy‘s blog and saw her entry on her thoughts of how the original studio Ani6 came to be. I was really touched by it and I wanted to make a similar entry. Theres no way for this to be a short entry, cause there’s a lot of things I wanna say, so if you don’t wanna read this, feel free to skip. :p

Before studio Ani6 even existed, one of the first friends I had met in my freshman year of LaG was Evelyn.

Evelyn: It was during lunch and she came by and sat by the floor corner of the cafeteria near our table. At first impression, she was super shy and hated taking pictures but was really funny and really liked yaoi. She also did these funny unique hand mannerisms, was tomboyish and wore alot of high platform sneakers. We became good friends and started riding home on the train together to the endpits of Brooklyn.
Despite her shyness she had a super bold personality about her that showed through her drawings and I really admire and respect that. Even now she continues to make clean beautiful art and I still can’t figure out how she does it. ><
Now she no longer wears platform shoes or bellbottoms but flats, heels and dresses D

Sophmore year started and there were a bunch of new incoming sophomores that came out of nowhere. They were all really talented and were quite some characters. One notedly named Justin.

Justin: It was also during lunch, and he suddenly sat by our table with Judy and the others. The first thing I noticed was that he had a huge afro, a red freshman backpack and that he was reading an anime magazine. I thought to myself, “This dude must be an otaku”. So I talked to him and I was right. He ended up being in my Japanese 3 class and I was surprised to find out that he was really good at it already. We exchanged screennames and we were super cool ever since then. Other than that he also had a myriad of girl/relationship problems. …He still does.
Anyway, this dude has been responsible for bringing the original Ani6 together and organizing/designing up all the websites that are currently available (jedmund, designdraft, theanigroup and paperbox :>). So much kudos to him.

One of the random incoming sophomores was Simon.

Simon: At first I didn’t like him. I thought his name was Bill. He was on the track team. I thought he was one of those dudes that liked to flirt with a bunch of girls to heighten his ego. After getting to know him, I was wrong, for the most part anyway. He turned out to be a really nice guy, a nice guy that liked to draw alot of ecchi/H and big boobed girls. But strangely, he was really really good at it. I was weirdly attracted to his personality and his determination and passion to be an all around artist. Then came the day he asked me out, and we started dating. And we’re still together. <3
We both traveled to Cali for college at AAU. This guy really has alot of talents, drawing, singing, guitar, athletics, the list goes on. Still, he can be such a butt sometimes

The last of the incoming sophmores was Sachin.

Sachin:I forget how I met this guy, I think it was through rumors or other people talking about this new kid that draws well and likes to stick metrocards on his forehead. My first thoughts were wow this kid is skinny, he looks super azn and he has curly hair.
I was always sort of intimadated or feeling inadequate whenever I was around him, knowing his art was super exceptional. But aside from the impotence I really respected him and his artwork. His way of rendering and understanding of color still amazes me today. Aside from art, he is crazy good at breakdancing and popping and was a great performer for CSA during the last years of LaG. I still don’t know much about him because we never really talked much but he’s cool B)

And last but not least, the 6th member of the original Ani6 is Jane.

Jane: I remember seeing Jane a lot at the Mezzanine but never actually talked to her. I forget how we actually met but it was really late into the sophomore year I think, she was really quiet and liked bunnies. As it turns out that she has a super brain of 10 Einsteins with mad artistic skills. We had the same painting class once, and I don’t know how she comes up with these random hilarious and sometimes grotesque but well done drawings/paintings, but she just does. I envy her creativity and talent to draw almost anything at any given time without question. She’s also really good at making her own clothes and little animations.
She broke her finger lately but she still draws 24/7 and got even better. She’s insane, but a good insane :>>>

Well thats the Ani6 crew . Sorry for the crappy drawings guys, its my first post in a while but I wanted to make it a meaningful one. You guys are the best, thanks for everything.
